To be your "North Star" in travel

I grew up in middle-of-nowhere Nebraska—though I always dreamt far beyond my landlocked state’s borders! My first big-girl job required a lot of travel, and I loved every minute of it. But life came at me fast, and before I could even blink, I was married with two kids; those days on the road were swapped for rushed morning school runs, the afternoon activity shuffle, and hurried, distracted dinners.

I was balancing “mom life” with a high-stress corporate career, and it was tempting to let travel fall by the wayside. Instead, though, my family doubled down, putting our vacations on the books and making catching planes a priority.

I’m so glad we did—because now, 25+ countries later, I have a library of memories to look back on (quite literally; we print photobooks after every family vacation, and now I have shelves full of ‘em!). But more than that, I was able to pass on my love of the world to my sons, and help them build the confidence and resilience that only comes from venturing far from home.
